it doesnt matter because the N/A rx-7 where still faster then the N/A 924/ 944 and the turbo rx-7 where fast and a better dring car then the 924/ 944..... evin the guy from Top Gear said that !

The FC RX-7's came optional single turbo 13B. The FD RX7's were optional Twin turbo.

And who cares about straight line speed. If you put an FC up against a porsche it may win in a straight line yes, but put it on the track. That's where a Porsche will eat it like a Vette versus a Camry.

The 13B-REW Turbo had 276hp in it's best day (japanese). From 1993-1997, it produced 255 hp in the RX-7, and from 1998-2002 produced 276.

The RX-8 Renesis 13B produces 255 hp. Not bad for a 2.5L engine, considering the 300zx N/A is 240 from a 3.0L.

PS - and as you probably know, the Mazda wankels are not really 1.3L engines, that is the nominal combustion displacement, not the effective displacement. :) It's like saying 3.0L piston engines are only 1.5L engines because half of the cylinders are compressing at any given time...

From what I remember Mazda got into some trouble when they released the new RX-8 because the numbers they claimed were so off base of what the car actually produced.
