ok so my 84 300zxt overheats, i think i need a new thermostat has anyone created a help thing for this. also i need a new distriburator cap and rotor. is the anything special with this?
what could be any other problems of overheating
also when i dont give it enough time to cool down before trying to start it again it starts but i have to floor the gas and it has a really bad knock. the knock goes away at about 1500 rpm's also when i start it hot it idles at 800 rpm's and dies if i let off the throtle

Thermostat is pretty easy...Drain the engine coolant out of both sides of the block, then drain the radiator. Take some hoses off, and replace. There is a nice writeup in Haynes.

Cap and rotor is cake. Remove old ones, replace with new. One thing to look out for is the firing order of your spark plug wires, these are easily mixed up. Use some tape and label the wires before you remove them from your cap.

Your third problem sounds familiar, but I can't remember if it's the Fuel temperature sensor, or the CHTS....sorry.
