You really don't need any special tools. It's pretty straight forward. The fronts have a tendency to squeal really bad sometimes. Speaking from experience, the only way to illiminate this is with new shims and pins. Lube yours up with brake grease and put anti-squeal stuff on the backs of the pads.
If you are replacing calipers, be very careful when removing the brake lines. After 20 years, they have a way of being really stuck.
Check your front wheel bearings for slop. If they need to be replaced it's about $20 or $30 for all four in the fronts. Now is a good time to do them.
