Found this '73 240Z on the Tucson Craigslist. The car has a 260Z engine with round-tops and a 280ZX distributor setup. Needs front fenders, hood, fuel tank, bumpers and tail lights. Seller claims that the suspension is all intact and rolls freely. Seller will include a 4-speed transmission. Has a title. A lot of stuff missing, but appears to be a solid Arizona car for only $1,000.00. Price started out at $1,700.00 10 days ago, then dropped to $1,500.00 earlier on the week and now only $1,000.00.

Wow. If you have to pay anyone to turn a wrench on that, it will take $20,000 or more to get a nice car out of it.

Looks like a potential parts car to me.

On the surface, this 240Z looks to be a very solid Arizona car. I sent an email through CL and asked the seller if the car had any rust (in all the usual areas) and he said that the floors, quarter panels, rockers, etc were all rock solid and free of rust. Solid 240Zs like this are a rare find and it would be a huge waste to cut this car up. It needs a hood, front fenders, tail light surrounds, tail lights, bumpers and a gas tank. Which can be found fairly easily, depending on where you live. The seller mentioned in the listing that the car comes with a 4-speed. It wouldn't take a whole lot to get the car on the road. In terms of a full restoration, yes it would cost a lot, but at least you're starting with a very solid car that does not need any rust repair, or very little rust repair.
