Offers on My Z...

So.. Don't know what happened to the world.. But in the last week I have received two offers to purchase my 1993 N/A convertible.. One was an associate of my mom's who offered $10,000 cash, the other one i need to follow up with but he left a note on my windshield in a diner parking lot..

A. I'm kinda considering the first offer because the guy restores old cars for a living.. and i would make a profit of $3,000 on the car (yes i know $7k is a rip for an Z in not the best shape with 120k on the odometer but hey! i was ill informed...) And with said $10k i would run out and get another Z (not sure what yet, probably another Z32)

B. Since when has it become appropriate to ask to purchase a car which does not have a For Sale sign on it? The note on my windshield stated that "Dylan" was Very interested in purchasing the car and that he really hopes i call..

C. Little funny, but "Dylan" based off the receipt that was his note is a drunken gambler :p (3 6 pks of Miller light, and 2 scratch off tickets)

I'd take the 10 grand and buy a really good condition TT. As long as you don't have some kind of emotional attachment that is.

I'll probably end up having my 2+2 buried in a plot next to me! =P
If it were me, I'd lean toward option A. Simply because it sounds like it would be an owner that would respect the car (as all Z's should treated). Dylan sounds like he may have it wrapped around a tree within a week. :-\

Last summer I had a lady approach me offering to buy my '88. At the time, it was the only Z I had. Since then. I've gotten my '96 and have fallen head over heels. I wish I had taken her name/number now. But, I realize someday the right person will come along for my '88 and sometimes it's all about the timing.

Funny story...I have a friend that had admired someones home for a number of years. He stopped by one day and left a note on the door saying that if they ever had any interest in selling their home he would want to have first offer. 13 years later, he received a call out of the blue. It was the owners daughter explaining that her Mother had passed away and while cleaning out a drawer, they found his note with his name and number on it. Well...he got the home of his dreams and couldn't be happier.

What it comes down to is if YOU are ready to sell your car and that you won't have any regrets in doing so after.

Good luck with your decision and let us know what happens!

Why not save the money on the extra plot and just be buried IN it? Fluids drained of course, gotta be kind to the enviroment. :D
Well.. My emotional attachment would stem from it being my first car.. But would that count if I go out and get the same car afterwards?
10k for a 93 vert with over 100k? freaking jump on that....
3rd
That's 1/4th of a Nismo 370z.

At least that is the way I'd look at it.
yeah.. I know.. like that would be a beast of a down payment on a 370z.. but i already told you how much i'm gettin raped for insurance on this Z32.. that and no full time job coupled with car payments seems like a recipe for disaster..
10K GO FOR IT.....
