I just installed a mallory unilite distributer on my car. I was crusiing through town and saw a friend of mine, so i stopped to say hi. I was sitting still and instead of going to idle my RPM's kept dropping until it died, but the throttle was still responsive and that would have kept it running, but i was curious as to what would happen. Then there was the smell of raw fuel. The motor started right up after that and i drove home with no problem. I have been idling at 1300 to 1500 rpm and cant get it down. Please give me some idea as to what happened, im kinda worried!!

Thanks- Evan

The mallory doesn't have vacuum advance, right? Check for any vacuum leaks from the old vacuum advance line/port. make sure you capped it off good. Also recheck the timing, it may have moved on you. The high idle sounds like a vacuum leak.
