My question is:
What source have you used to purchase an O2 sensor successfully?

I am in the process of replacing my O2 sensor. I picked up a part ordered in by my local autoparts dealer (Advance Autoparts). The part that came in had the wrong thread size - wrong by a considerable amount.

As opposed to taking the chance on ordering from another local autoparts store, waiting, and discovering the same mistaken part - I am considering ordering online.

Thanks for your thoughts/input/info!

Here is chart, compiled by one of the generous folks at z31.com:) It came in handy when I got my sensor--they tried to give me the wrong size when I bought mine:)

If you're going to order online, the most knowledgeable folk IMO are Courtesynissan.com and zcarparts.com (Motorsport Auto). Nopi.com and overboost.com have also provided good parts and service, but are less knowledgeable about the Z.

I think I discovered my problem although I am still at work and cannot test to find out!

It makes me feel like a fool for not noticing this sooner but I believe that the reason the thread sizes are different is because there is an "Oxygen Sensor Nut" on top of my dead oxygen sensor. It is on so tight I thought it was all one piece but apparently it is not. When I get home I am going to attempt to remove it and put it on the part that I thought was incorrect.

I'll post the results but anyone that has replaced an O2 sensor is probably already laughing! This is my first experience replacing one.

valkyrievf2x - your post showed me that the part I ordered was correct

MaximumQ - Your post led me into a search in which I found a picture of the O2 Sensor nut that solved this riddle.

Thanks everyone for your help and information!
