Is it worth the time and money to put NOS on a 75 AUTO 280Z. I bought this car off of excite classifieds, and have owned a 74, (2) 75, 76, 78, 80, 90 Z cars and a old 1972 datsun Pick up 1600 that I tried to blow up but it would not blow, best little truck I ever had. So any way I bought this 75 Z off excite classifieds for $75.00, put 2 temp sensors in it a fuel pump, and a mass air flow unit, pair of struts and away I go. There is not one bit of rust on this car and the undercarrage area has no rust. The miles may be original but I don't know (67000) I know all my other cars when they rolled over 100K the numbers were raised up and not centered, the numbers on this are still centered. anyway I am thinking about putting a NOS kit on it just for fun, I know it will never be as fast as my 95 TT Supra, but hey I love the Z car from 71 to 78 was the greatest. So thats my story, gotta go eat dinner.

Nitrous is perfectly safe on the Z's engine. It is not bad for any engine if used and tuned properly. The only extra wear the engine will suffer comes from the added power, not the nitrous itself. As long as you don't run too large a shot (50-75 hp) the engine will do just fine. Before installing a kit, make shure the engine is in good condition and has good compression. Do a full ignition system tune up including new spark plugs that are about 1 heat range colder. Drop ignition timing about 2* for every 50 hp of nitrous sprayed. Make sure to run 91 ostane gas as well. All of this will be outlined very well in the instructions that come with the kit.
