Unless you want to risk them shattering on you or cracking, leave drilling to someone who has a proven drilling pattern. Also, if they are drilled professionally, the machinists doing the drilling have access to much better quality tools than just a drill press and the level of precision will be much higher.

I have to say it is ok to drill your own rotors with the right equiptment.I drilled the rotors on my rotary..brake rotors that is..I used a bridgeport CNC mill,I copied brembo's drill pattern exactly and drilled all the holes and countersunk them to spec.I sure wish I could still do it..P.S.They actually never cracked in 8 months before I sold it

Well ok let me amend that if you have access to CNC machining equipment and a good pattern then and only then is it ok to do your own. :)
