No brake preasure after replacing broken line

122 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  steve240Z73
My right rear brake hard line to my caliper went, snapped right off.
i had no preasure before, where it would sink to the floor before actually braking. But now its worse.

i replaced that line, used some flared steel tubing mtched the shape and everything. Filled up the fluid, and for about 10 kms all was well. But i just found a puddle under that wheel as well as everything i filled in, out.
So im confused now, as to what could’ve led to this happening. There is absolutely nowhere else that the fluid may have escaped from, that i know of. Because everything is tightened down.

any help is much appreciated, thanks!

UPDATE
I think it may or may not be air in the system, simply because i topped it up with fluid and pressed on the brake a few times and its not leaking anymore. But i still have no preasure. So my next step is going to be a brake bleed and see where that leads me too
Are there bleed valves on the master cylinder? Mine did the same thing until I bled the master and then went after the individual brakes.

I looked above and below, and i dont see anything. Unfortunately i dont think thats the issue however, im not entirely sure what is. My current theory is excess air in my system but i bled them about 3 times already each time with brand new fluid and being careful with how i did it, but i still dont have any brake preasure.

Look again. There should be two bleed screws on the MC.
