On an 83280zx next to the coil there in a little tubular condesner thing about 3cm long with a blue wire going into it and a black wire coming out of it.On mine the black wire coming out of it has a conector on the end of it but is not conected to anything...Anyone know what it conects to????So I can reconnect it.......Thanx
The black one goes to a wire that goes to ground on the distributor. It is hooked to the bolt that holds the distributor to the block. The blue wire should hook to bullet connector in the wiring harness (blue wire with bullet connector end)... If you are missing the black wire to the dizzy, you can make one. Use some 14 gauge wire, with a bullet connector on the resistor end and use a spade, hook or ring connector to mount under the dizzy bolt.
I think the main use of the resistor is to keep electrical noise out of the radio.
Thanks for that....It makes sense cause the black wire is just long enough to get to the dizzy..Matt
