Have the new (used) distributor in. It has 9° vacuum advance vs the 7 1/2° that my original had. It also comes on at a lower vacuum. Nissan had set my initial timing in a retarded position some months ago to get me through emissions so I cranked it fully clockwise on the new one. Engine idle picked up 250 rpm and the car is much stronger out of the hole. It doesn't dog as badly as it did before. Know a lot more about 280Z distibutors now. Next thing is to tear the old one apart and see if I can't repair all its damage and end up with a good spare - Remanufactured by Phantom. That really breeds trust doesn't it!
