Just wanted to introduce myself, as I'm sure I'll be on here quite a bit. My wife and I just purchased a 78 280z in need of a restoration. The car has very minimal rust on it, and is currently being used as a daily driver. 108k miles and has been garage kept for most of its life.

Any suggestions for good sites, references, or parts sources I need would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

I'll post pics in a couple of days. We are picking up the car tomorrow night after work I believe, it's a couple hours from here. Thanks for the pointer to the sticky.

Y0RGO,
That's not a picture of your wife with her car, is it? I've heard stories of big boned women but....

It's making another fellow who has a sheep "thing" seem tame.

Ok,
Got her home late last night and took care of the dmv stuff today.

I have my work cut out for me. Car is pretty straight and only a couple small rust spots to take care of. All the usual places look good, battery tray, fender wells, frame, floor boards, etc.. AC works, even the dash clock works ;) Car has 108k miles on it, I'm the 3rd owner. The 1st owner had it until 95,000 miles, some doctor who bought it fresh out of school in 1978. She kept it all these years in her garage and only drove it occasionally.

The work I'll need to do right off the bat is get the mechanics sorted. Brakes need work, clutch slips, exhaust manifold leak, misses at lower rpms that gets worse when its hot, miscellaneous issues like tach getting stuck, etc.. I've got the service manual and the FI guide to get started with, lots of good info.

After I get it sorted out and running acceptably, I'll decide whether to do a frame up, or drive and restore.

I did drive it home, about 180 miles last night. So it's not that bad.
