Has anyone ever seen or have heard of this engine??? HEAD Y-70, BLOCK L-20.
That's right an head that say's Y-70 inbetween the number 1 and 2 cyl.
and a block that states "L-20". and it's a 6cyl z motor inside a 83 maximum.
if anyone knows what this is or where it came from let me know please.

which side is the intake on? If the intake is on the passenger side then it's LY head but I doubt it.

Well, I'm guessing its a 2L L20? They are quite common engines here in New Zealand, and I'd guess they'd have different heads than the other Z engines 'cause they don't need as much flow or something like that. What year was the car?

From Bryan Little's excellent webpage:

"Y70, E80, E88 These heads were used on Australia/New Zealand Zcars. The AU E88 was used on L28 motors. Interestingly, while the 260 was only made in 1974 in the states, it was made until 1978 or so over there. I believe they had leaded 96 octane gas until recently, so these may have been higher compression heads, or ones designed for leaded gas."
