I have a 75 280 that I am putting back together, I am putting a 81zx 2+2 5-Spd in place of the old 4-Spd. I'm also useing the 2+2 flywheel and a new 2+2 clutch kit. My question is, there are three differant sizes of clutch collers, The one I took off of my 4-spd was the longest of them. The one off of the 81zx is the same size. Do I need to use a differant size coller or will the one I had do the job.
I really need to get this put back together (my wife wants her side of the garage back)
Thanks in advance for any help.

If they're the same, it wont matter...but you should use the collar that matches the clutch and tranny (82)

>rob,
if you place the pressure plate on a flat surface along with the throw-out bearing and the carrier, it should measure 3.52 inches to the fork contact points on the carrier. you have to do it with the parts off of the engine because the pressure plate
fingers compress when it is bolted up to the flywheel. if that's what your parts measure then you are all set.
why do you want to use that heavy clutch in a coupe?
