I currently run 215/70/14's
on my 82zx. I want to increase size but not tire
heiht. What's a good recommendation. I was looking
at 225/60/14. Will that work
on my stock rim?

225/60/14 vs 215/70/14
Going to a 225/60/14 your ride height will be lowered some.
225=width
60=sidewall heighth
14=rim size.

Mmmm almost.
sidewall height=60% of width

You wouldn't believe how long it took somebody to explain that too me. Sometimes being blonde just works against you. &-)

RE: Here's a general formula.

Still, go to a tire store and compare them side by side.
(((width x 2) x aspect ratio) / 25.4) + rim diameter.
215/70R14 is 215 x 2 = 430

430
x .70 = 301

301 / 25.4 = 11.85

11.85 + 14 = 25.85 this gives your height in inches tall. Plug and chug or chug a lug or something.

Here's a website that'll figure it for you!

Just type in the sizes you want to compare, starting with the original and it'll show you percentages of difference, revolutions per mile, cicumference, etc.
And you can wipe out the ones they show, you don't have to leave them there (they are defaults and always come back).
