I have an 80 zx , however it was not t-tops. The chrome targa strip on mine was just popped on. I wasn't too concerned about taking mine off in great condition, as I was scrapping the strip anyway, but it came of nicely anyway. I believe that you can carefully pry it off of the Nissan trip retainers. I would suggest sliding it either all the way forward or all the way rearward, and then carefully try to pop it off. You may need to get new trim retainers, all depending on how brittle yours are, however they can be ordered thru your nissan dealer. Hope this helps.
