When bypassing the heater core, is it best to connect the water hoses togeather to circulate or is it best to just plug them off? i dont want to discover one day that the heater was leaking after the floor rusted away plus i dont need the extra heat in the car this summer. thanks!

I think I would block the hoses if I were going to bypass the heater. The cooling system runs with the hoses blocked when the heater is turned off so that would appear to be the way it should run in hot weather. If you just hook them together you would have a high flow from the back of the head to the water pump without the intended restirction of the heater core.
