OK, passenger side interior... when you sit, there's this humongous thing that I have to slide my feet under... I'm assuming (you know what assuming does!) that it's the whole fan blower motor deal but I've seen a lot of pictures of 260 interiors that don't have that thing hanging there. Do they just not have heat, or is there some kind of conversion thingy you can do to move it or something? I know this question sounds stupid to many, but I did say this was my first Z!! Thanks!!

Good point... It does not have air and the heater controls have nothing for a/c either, but it did have the little control pod thing screwed to the console on the drivers side which I understand was for factory air... I took it out though - I followed the wires and none of them were hooked to anything... Hmmmmm....

Ther you go man! It's probably the shroud covering the air conditioning exchanger. It's a bit of a pain to remove but it'll look better. If the air hasn't been disconected and is still charged don't evacuate it yourself, take it to a shop and have it done, freon is nasty stuff and you'll be doing the environment a favour!

Nah, thats probably it then. I just put the engine in it and I'm positive there's nothin a/c related on the entire car, except for that apparently. So I can just pull that cover that hangs down? do I need to keep that motor that's there, or does that whole deal come out as one unit?

In order to remove it look for some scrwes or bolts on the upper right-hand side near the dash. After you remove that the thing should fall down. I can't remember if there are any other bolts or scerewws. THen you have to unhook the freon lines that go from the evaporator (that is what it is) to the engine bay. Do us all afavour, don't release freon. But you need the motor thing (that is th blower) and this box should simply fall away. Unhook the freon hoses and you are done. Good luck!

Great! Thanks a million! I won't put any freon into the air... there's none in it... I'm positive of that. Actually, this explains those two tubes coming out next to the battery tray... great
