I have come to rely on my new friends here @zcar.com, and I have come to a point of dilemmathat I must ask opinion on.
I have a 79 ZX that I have owned for soe time now, you may already know that I recently resurrected it from the garage after a 3 year hiatus. no major mechanical problems, but.......
I had originally garaged it for a small wreck I had which damaged the front passenger area of the car, and I never came back for it until a few weeks ago. I have been driving it for roughly a month, and it is indeed a trooper, as it just passed the 200K mile marker, and is still very strong. I started tonight at removing body panels, and beginning the body work needed, as I was under the vehicle, I shined the flashlight past where the front valance used to be, and caught sight of a frightening thing. The passenger side framerail is rotted horribly from the firewall all the way back, to the point that the metal is literally peeling in places. The driver's side doesn't look that bad.
Now, The question that is obvious. do I bother? I love the car, but It is not monetarily worth the amount it will take to fix it.
any encouragement, or advice will be greatly appreciated.
