As you may or may not know I had to cut out my catalytic converter and weld in a straight pipe. It must have been clogged pretty good because it made a big differance. Idles lower and smoother, revs faster, pulls harder in the high RPMs, and I gained 500RPM in first gear(auto). Normaly when I reved to 6k in 1st it would start to vibrate badly but now It'll rev to 6500-6700rpm smoothly. I havent tired in second yet I havent found a road open enough to try it

My only complaint is an awful vibration around 2-2.5k. I think that might clear up when I put a soild hanger on the pipe where the cat used to be.

A solid hanger will make vibrations that you feel on your butt worse. Keep it safe, use a rubber, hanger that is. Find out what is causing such a bad vibration instead of making it not noticeable. You could save yourself money in repairs, if something is going.

I meant the pipe vibrating its really loud. So I figured I'd put something where hanger for the cat was to hold it still so it doesnt shake. the only thing holding my system to my car is the bolts on the manifold, a hanger behind the muffler, and one infront of the muffler.

Don't Matter smog laws or not. Not having a Cat. converter is a federal offence ( therefore if you had it done at a shop its a HEAFTY fine for them and you if anyone finds out ) and if you did it yourself....What the fed don't know...wont hurt em.
