Well my Z31 has a gas problem. I hit the accelerator at like a stop position and then i goes pop pop like the car has constipation or something. I ran the codes on the ecu and these codes came up 21, 23, 41. My idle is high right now because of the problem and want to make sure the car starts. The code 41 says fuel temperature sensor. Meaning that screw nugget on my FPR. I heard that it might be the oxygen sensor but I said if doesn't work till 2000rpms and I am driving pass that at anytime I need to move. And I also heard I am not allowed to remove that Fuel Temp sensor too and try to unscrew it and put one on from the salvage yard is that true? Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help!

you are not supposed to remove teh temp sensor from the FPR. i had the same problems when my temp sensor went out. the car bucked and coughed and hicuped til about 4k rpms. the haynes manual says to replace the unit as a whole (FPR and fuel temp sensor). its a pretty straight forward job to do.

-unplug the temp sensor
-unbolt the fpr at the bottom
-disconnect the fuel and vaccuum lines
-reassemble in reverse order

my Z ran like a champ after that until the altenator decided to go.

I got the FPR from victoria british but **** thing didn't come with a Fuel temp sensor. Can I get it aftermarket at like napa, autozone, advance auto parts, etc. or only nissan?

My 88 Turbo had a broken FTS. I took one off my 86 parts car, and it has run fine for 10,000 miles.

napa or bap should have a temp sensor that you can stick in it. if not, go to a juel injection specialist shop and they should be able to sell you one for like 5 bucks

It's the same FTS as the one on the z32. If that is the only defective part, you can purchase the sensor separately for about $35. Z-bum has the part number somewhere or other on his site.
