Thats it!!! but dont pay that much for it, you can prolly get a couple from a junkyard for real cheap one of them otta work, or get one from someone on this site, you can test the module with a voltmeter i dont remember how but if you say it will start right back up again then it wouldnt read that it is broken since it only dies for a couple seconds, hopefully you can test one out..good luck
my 79' 280zx JUST DIES...
she will run just fine cold...seems like when it get warm she will just die FOR NO REASON...and very sparatically...i was told this may be due to an ignition module.... and is a very common problem w/ the zx's. (it will die...but will fire right up again...no sputter, nothing just dead tach drops 2 zero) has any one had this happen to them...and what will solve this problem? i saw this on ebay...is this what i need to replace...

yea seems pretty pricely for a black box...
Yep the Ignition Module is toast. That was my first problem I had on my 79 280 ZX about 2 years ago. Think I got mine from Auto Zone or Oreilly's think it was around $100.
