Has anyone replaced these? I tried but could not get the bar off the rear diff. Do I have to take it to a shop or can I do this myself?

Thanks

It certainly is possible to do this yourself. I have done it on two cars. On both I was also doing the rear susp bushings so I had the front diff mnt off & the diff supported on a jack (or pulled out).

You may need to temp. remove the front diff mnt so that you can pull the diff forward, then remove the mustache bar.

Burn out the orig. rubber bushing & leave the swaged sleeve in the mustache bar.

good luck

I did this last weekend. I had to remove the front differential mount
and then the nuts from the vertical studs through the mustach bar.
You can then lower the differential with a jack and remove the mustach
bar. By far the toughest task is getting the rubber bushings out of
the mustach bar. It was a pain but I just replaced them with urethane
from Motorsports and it worked great.
