Sounds a bit strange, but before I try it....My '86 Turbo M/T is hard to shift and cranky until it's very warmed up. And even when warm, it usually refuses to let me downshift down into 2nd, or 1st unless I'm going less than 10 mph if that. There's a grabbing feeling when when shifting from 1st to 2nd all the time. I changed the tranny oil, using the 80/90 as per manual. But the problem remains. A respected tranny shop says to go with 30W conventional oil. Another respected mechanic concurs with this, both of them saying the 80/90W is way too thick. Should I try 30W motor oil for the tranny? Why would the normal tranny oil work for everyone else, unless my tranny is worn out? And if I do need a new tranny or synchro rebuild, shouldn't I just try this first....??

I can get Redline, either the MT85 or MT90. Is one better than the other? Says both are for Nissan. The MT85 being a bit lighter. Any type you use in particular?
