maxima tranny same as z? Flywheel is, how about clutch too?

Maxima flywheel is alot lighter wieght than the Z unit (that's good), but is interchangable. I'm not sure if a Maxima clutch would work on a Z.

What about the clutch surface area, is it the same?

Here's what you need to know: The 240 and the Maxima share the same clutch disk. The Maxima has a softer pressure plate as opposed to the 240. I got on Advanced Auto Parts website and compared the 2 vehicles on their clutches and also have the "How to Modifiy the L-series Engine" and they have a section on the different clutches offered. Yes there is no difference, just maybe the gearing. You will want to remember to swap out the speedo pinion when doing this.
