I was wondering where to get a haynes manual for an 83' 280zx
Also, I was wondering if anyone knows how to clean original 280 zx rims without taking off the gold finish on some parts of the aluminium, thanks

I just picked up a Haynes manual about 2 weeks ago at Advanced Auto parts. I'm sure that Auto Zone, etc. would have one also. You may also want to check with Amazon.com if you just want to order over the Inernet.

About the wheels, I'd try a cleaner that's made for coated wheels. These cleaners tend to be a bit less aggressive.

You local Barnes & Noble should carry the Haynes Manual, if they dont have it in stock, ask them to order it. Amazon.Com could get it. Also try the Zcar.Com bookstore.

Last time I was at Big-O Tires, they had a complete line of wheel cleaning compounds. Each one was more or less abrasive, so get the one you want.

I just use a sponge, carwash, water and my hand. Makes'em look nice without the excess expense.

Try PEP BOYS for a haynes manuel.
They price at around $14.oo 79-83zx.
My stock whells on my 79
are unfinished silver.
I use MOTHERS METAL POLISH,
this stuff works great on raw metal.
Your wheels may be powder baked,
be careful and avoid products with
abrasives.Brake dust is not easy
to remove, but pre-soaking with
a sponge and a bucket of liquid soap
should work.
