Hey guys I have a 1990 300 zx 2+2 NA manual. As I am driving and I drop my car to neutral to slow down. I get a significant drop off in RPMs almost down to 500. It acts as if it wants to cut off but it does not. What do I need to do in order to keep this RPM up to normal specs. 700-1000 RPM on idle?

First thing I would do....

is to check the TPS adjustment. Make sure the TPS is set to .48v. If not then adjust it to .48v with the engine fully warmed up but not running. Next disconnect the gray TPS harness and start the car. Adjust the idle to 800-850 RPM with the headlights on. Let the car idle for around one minute. While the engine is idling re-connect the gray TPS harness and test drive the car. See if that cures the problem.
