My 82zx was running bad and i had a huge exhaust leak around the manifold so i decided to tear it all down and put it together right so i tore took my manifolds off and while i had everything apart i took the head off to look at the pistons and put a new head gasket on, i thought mine old one was leaking some coolant, also i had a p90head i wanted to put on. I put it all back together and start it up and immediately it starts smoking, well i thought this would just be some crap burning off the new head but it kept on smoking, really bad, it spewes out white smoke so thick that it trails three or four houses down, Never in my life have i seen a car smoke this bad. The head was good when i took it off the old engine, it had just been rebuilt ( then friend wrecked car) After a while of checking and searching i found that i had forgot to hook up the pvc valve hose, but when i reconnected it it stil smoked. any help would be great i really want to get her fixed.

White smoke is generally indicative of water getting in. I'd guess that either your new head gasket isn't sealing or there's something wrong with the new head. Hold your hand behind the exhaust pipe while it's spewing smoke. If your hand turns wet, the smoke is mostly water.
Blake,
Look inside the radiator cap at the coolant level. If it rises and falls while the engine idles that is a sure sign of a cylinder leak (gasket or cracked head). As the piston on the leaky cylinder rises and falls it will pump coolant and air in and out of the coolant system.
