Check 2 simple thing
1) pinch hose off with a clamp on Air Regulator when cold idle should decrease, pinch when hot idle should not change . If this doesn't happen replace air regulator
2) Check vacuum hose to fuel pressure regulator .You will not get enough fuel if this is cracked or malfuntioning . Test pull the hose of and drive if power output doesn't drop the reglutor is screwed or no vacuum signal to it .

Try these first remeber them for later they are very common

I've got a 76 over 10 years.Recently had problems which I traced to a distributer that it's lockdown bolt had been loosened. Check that & vacuum connections. Also check electrics, do you have at least a 60 amp alternator. Also beware friendly neighbors who like to watch you try & figure these strange problems out. After I moved very far away my Z kept running flawlessly.Good luck & post an answer when you solve it.
