Very nice looking inside and out. There are some "blisters" on the lower front fenders but the rails and floors appear solid. $2500 is the asking price but owners son says it could be had for $2000 along with a near complete but rough '76.

Opinions?

I wanted to stay with a 240 but solid ones are too hard to find in the mid-atlantic states.

E-bay E-motors. That's where I got my 240, and it's cherry. I paid a lot more than $2500 for it though.

Buy it! ANY nice straight Z is getting hard to find, besides, what else could you possibly buy for $2500 that would be anywhere near the car as a Z? 78's are, in my opinion anyway, very fun cars to own, as much as any other 1st gen Z, they are slightly more solid than most 240's (the "newest" 240 is now nearly 30 years old) and from the cars I have seen and owned maybe less likely to have been owned by a 16 year old "boy racer" (no offense to all the 16 year old boy racers out there, I was one) I'd say buy it and have fun, unless you plan on getting very serious about going fast, a 78 will respond as well or better to any mods you make as well as any other Z.
