I need a replacement long block with head for a 77 280z. Does anyone know ,off hand, if I can use any later 280z or zx N/A ie, any block from 77 through 83 (normally aspirated.) It is l lot easier to find a low mileage 83 than a 77. Also if anyone in Southern California has such a low mileage block and is willing to part with it, I am in Victorville (between L.A. and Las Vegas.) you can email me or phone during the day at 760-246-3660 M-F.

You can use any L28 from '75-83. If you use a newer ZX block with the flat top pistons and an N42 head from a 75/76 (square exhaust ports)or an N47 head (round exhaust ports)from a 77/78 you can up your compression ration to 10:1.
