s it dead or just wiring? my left headlight is a bit dim and when I turn on the brights it gets dimmer but the right light is fine, I was wondering if this light is totally dead or could it just be some wiring problem. Thanks for your help.

Hope this helps. I had the same prob with my '74 260Z, turned out to be corrosion in the fuse box on the left light fuse. I did everything else I could think of including: cleaning all the light connections, replacing the light, checking all the wiring back to the fuse box.
I ended up taking some fine grit sandpaper, bending it to fit snug in the fuse leads and went to sanding. Haven't had a prob with it since.
Almost every problem I have been having with this car that was electrical related turned out to be corrosion on connections. Hope it's this easy for you. Z ya

sounds like the wiring.... get a volt meter and check the voltage coming out of the wires going to the left headlight... should read 12v-50/40w.
if it reads lower check and clean the connectors.
Ground side is my first check... Often overlooked...A meter may not show the resistance there so clean the connections. Add star lock washers and connection grease.. I use the same as the battery terminal grease. Grease all bulbs and spade lugs on light connections. I have saved $$$ for people who were told they needed a rewire job! Good Luck
