So I am doing some work over the winter on my 240. Transmisson has to come out and I have decided to put the stock flywheel on a diet. Thought I would get it to drop some weight down to about 15 lbs. Here is my question. I have a machine shop that will do this for me but what do i tell them as far as...Do I have them work on the side facing the motor only or both sides? I would assume that the flywheel will need to be balanced after the work?? Am I on the right track here?
Man winter is going to be a long time to not drive the Z..................

Generally the material is removed from the back side of the flywheel. You may just want to consider an aluminum unit from Malvern Racing. they run about 375.00 and they are a tildon part, very good quality unit and serviceable.
