My steering rack seems to be leaking fluid out of where the steering colum connects, it started doing this when I removed the colum. Im sure there is some kinda of seal and boot that goes on there, anyone know what these part numbers are, I searched the Fiche and couldnt find them. I have and 86 GLL

thanks
Daryl

stumped me. there is no fluid in the steering column or anything related to it. Just in the steering rack itself.

Maybe the brake or clutch master cylinders are leaking.

Isnt there supposed to be some kind of boot or seal that goes around the shaft that is sticking out of the rack?

Well I hope not, because I dont have the money to buy a new one from the dealer and there arent any z's in the junk yards near me... what makes you think its shot? The car steered amazingly before I started the rebuild.
