So about 2 weeks ago i noticed that my passengers side carpet was wet so i figured hole in floor board, nope. so i looked into it further it was antifreeze, so i was like **** heater core or heater hoses so i replaced both of those still leaky so i got on here and saw palladins post about the gasket that goes bad after many years of work so i purchased that part from napa but when i went to install it i noticed that there was no way in he11 that it was leaking from that so i proceeded to the part it looked like it was leaking from i dont know what it is called but its got a vacuum line going to it and it goes through the fire wall to the short heater hose that goes into the engine block anyway i took that part out because it looked really corroded and i cleaned it up and put some sealant around where i thought it was leaking and put everything back together and let it dry over night. this morning i drove to school and when i got there i looked in the floor board with much anticipation and saw that the leak has actually gotten worse and it is still coming from the same part directly to the left of the part on palladins post.

Please im out of ideas and patients so any ideas will be very appreciated

Vacuum operated heater control valve. External sealant won't cure it. Check to see if Nissan part no. 27090-N3100 is what you need. I have one NOS in original box.
Nick
i put sealant on inside and outside of the external heater control valve. thanks for the name. any ideas where i can find this part? i checked motor sport auto and couldnt find it.
He said he has one.... But we need more info about your car first. What kind of system is it? Auto or standard? Heres a list of them from the Store. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/SHC03 I just had to replace mine also.
it the original system with a/c nothing has been changed from 77
also has anyone done a shifter bushing replacement i want to know how much they change the shifting action
Dude, what year car is it? Do you have auto air or manual? Do you know what auto air is? If you have a vacuum operated heatercock on an 81-83 ZX, it is auto climate control. Sealant won't do squat.
I deleted my valve so the coolant flows freely through the heater core. Works fine with no problems so far. And no more leak.

If your shifter bushing is shot, then it should be really loose in gear. The new bushing will tighten it up.

If your current bushing is fine, it will do pretty much nothing.

Yeah, it works fine now with the outside temperature in the 30's. Talk to us this summer.

O'reilly has a generic valve for about $10 that you can slip into the heater hose and shutoff flow thru the heater core.
Its manual air and i thought that you could read the bottom of every post that i post and see that its a 77
