lash pads 240z

hello does anyone know how much clearance ( side to side play ) the rocker arms should have while sitting in the valve lash pads..can i check this with a feeler gauge?. with the cam up and the valve closed each rocker arm can be wiggled ( a tiny bit) ........ side to side on my 71 240z is this ok or should i invest in new lash pads..?? thankyou michele
