Just went and picked up my turbo motor from "all z specialist" (wrecking yard for z cars here in dallas) I am iching to drop it into my car now..but I can't...want to clean it up a bit and replace the oil pan gasket and the valvecover gasket, and do some engine well detailing....aahhhhhhhh...O'well. Should have the thing running down mustangs by august or sept. Thanks for all the help and info guys. This board is by far the best I have seen....bunch of great gearheads...hahahaha..talk to you all later. (if I can sleep..keep thinking of things to do to drop in the motor.)

Is that Jerry's place in Fort Worth, or another one I should know about? Wanna donate your project to science? I'd like to document the swap to put on the webpage if it's going into a first gen z car. I'm in Fort Worth, let me know.

yea It was Jerrys place. And but of corse I would love to have my car documented as a insite to others who will follow the same path. Yea its a first gen..just bearly though...78' 280z that is going to go on a diet, and should be able to get it to about 2700lbs. Email me and I will let you know when the major swap-job should be taking place. Glad to be able to give back a little of so much info that I have gotten from this board. You guys are great...keep it up

RE: Just picked up my 82 turbo motor

Can you post the number of that wrecking yard? I need some 2+2 doors that are hard to find.
Thanks

Question to Ewan

What mods do you have to do to the fuel system and the exhaust? Can the fuel system parts be easily pulled from a donor car or does new piping have to be run front to rear?

RE: Question to Ewan

Ok...the number to All Z's is 817-483-0383 and ask for Jerry. He is very helpful and pretty fair on prices. As far as the fuel line I am running new fuel lines from the tank up and using a high volume fuel pump with rising pressure regulator rather than the stock pump. Hope you are able to find the door you are wanting. Later and happy z-ing
