Just bought a wrecked 300zxtt

alright i have already made posts here but i bought a 94 300zxtt for a parts car. The engine is suppose to be from z1 motorsports and it cranks but will not fire. there was a broken sensor on the timing belt cover that i took off my 96 300zxtt and tried to see if the car would crank and it still would not start. I believe that it is not getting spark but i could be wrong. I did pull the coil pack out and spark plug out and tried to ground it while i had my grandfather turn the key and i couldn't see it spark at all. If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.

Good God Pilgram, that is a horrible post. "Tries to fire but won't crank", what a mess of a statement. Do you mean "It cranks but will not fire?"
What sensor are you talking about, the PTU?
ptu looks like this

another thing to try changing is the coolant temp sensor just in case... but either way run your codes

alright i changed the sentence up. sorry i was trying to type fast and wasn't really thinking about what i was saying. I looked through the internet and i found at that yes it is the ptu.
so did you run your codes?
not yet. Was dark last night and my car is not at my house it is at my grandfathers. I'm going to run them here pretty soon though.
got number 55. Guess im going to check fsm for diagnostics. I don't know what could be wrong.
most likely the ECU has reset itself and will only read codes after a startup, when you close the dial again the ECU has been reset, if you didn't do it right the first time you kinda blew it =P but chill... crank her even she won't start and read the codes again.

no spark can only be due to a failure in the PTU since you already replaced it, it might be a good time to relocate and cut out all the excess wire you were put in there.
well i found the problem. The problem is that the black wire (i assume is the ground) was split into 2 pieces inside the wire wrapping. I twisted the wires together and the car started right up.
What black wire? Where?
oops lol didn't realize i didn't finish my post. The black wire was running to the ptu.
