Fairladies and Gentlemen,

I have lost the only key I have for my 83. I need to be able to use my power window switch on the passenger side but I obviously can't get the car to the ACC or run position due to the lack of key. I hope to remove the lock from the door and get a few keys cut from the code I hope is on the side. The sticker in the glovebox is gone.


My question is: how do I "jump" 12 V to the switch which operates the window? Please, I beg of you, I am riding the bus to work right now, it's a 1:15 busride, yet a :15 drive to work. Any help would be merrily appreciated.

you can take the back ignition switch off the car and turn it with a screwdriver.

Could you please elaborate, I am relatively new to the world of mechanical excellence. Back ignition switch? I'm sorry, I need some more info yo2001. Thank you and merry christmas!

If it is the original switch just jot down the vin number from the dash and take it down to the dealer... he should be able to cut you a new key from the vin number. This number would be on the dash or on the engine if it is the original block aswell,
