Is this normal?

The vacuum through the PCV system on my '77 280z seems to be extremely high. So high in fact that my engine will die if I take the oil cap off while the engine is idling. Is there an adjustment for this? What about the air regulator valve? Is there something that I am missing? The PCV valve is working properly, and I think the vacuum lines are hooked up correctly. Can somebody shed some light on this for me? Thank you

On a properly functioning fuel injected L28, it's supposed to die when you remove the oil cap. I just read a post that said if your fuel-injectd car doesn't die when you remove oil cap, you have major vacuum leaks. I went out and tried it and whoo-hoo! mine died.
ya my 81 would die when i remved mine its a good thing :p
Yes it should die, but if it doesn't die, that doesn't mean it has to have a vac leak, it can just be just adjusted too rich.
yup your in good shape nothing to worry about
