acording to that web site with the speed calculater I have my car to about ~140Mph is that fast for and 83zxt with 3inch straight pipe 10lbs boost no ic, cone filter, and MSD ignition... doesn't take long to get there but I want to go faster... I kinda chickened out a bit I'm sure I could have kept going to 6000RPM but I stoped a bit after 5000... what kind of top speed are these cars capable of? I have an aftermarket front air **** and the car is lowered 1 inch...

Back straight at Riverside saw L28 Turbo ZX's hit 208mph.
Current Bonneville Record for the F/PS (2+2's) Class is 204, and F/BGT (two seaters) Class is 222mph.
140 Mph? That sounds about right, but I'll bet you were topped out. I seriously doubt you could've pulled to 6000 in fifth from where you were, you probably had another 5, maybe 10 mph in the vehicle, but with the aero forces at real speeds like these you start to run into a wall around 145-155mph. Going faster than that in a reasonable distance becomes progressively, exponentially difficult.
You will have to aerodynamically clean the car, and to get to the majical 208, you will need around 580 HP, and a set of 3.08 gears. If you find some, let me know, I am in need of a set, too!

darn.... wishfull thinking I guess...

I'm sure i could have gotten some more if the wind was with me and maybe a hill.... I would love to see 200mph... I was so pi$$ed off last night I didn't care how fast I went or what could happen... normally I'm a little more reserved... I guess to most people top speed don't matter it's how long it takes to get there that matters... I just love the looks of my zx and the new found power is a pleasent side effect...
