No reason why it should not work unless you are planning big HP upgrades. My daily driver is a 91 Eclipse AWD and I am running 15.5psi. Of course we are comparing apples to oranges as the "little" DSM 2.0L turbo engine runs 10psi stock with 195hp. I am at the limit for this I/C. It is fendermounted, making it a very compact unit with the core measuring about 10"x8" but about 4" thick, with the tanks top to bottom. Some of the DSMers have replaced this I/C with the Starion simply becuse the Starion is front-mounted and gets more air making it more efficient. Putting the DSM I/C in a Z would allow it to get more air and be at least as efficient as the Starion. I would say expect about 2psi drop, then you would have to turn the boost up and there is only so much boost you can out of a stock 280ZXT.
