I cannot find any recent posts on this. I'd like to add keyless entry to my 1976 Z. I don't care about an alarm system, but would like for the system to be capable of unlocking both doors as well as the hatch cover.
Any advice is appreciated.

I would take the easy way and just worry about the doors. The hatch is fully mechanical and the handle is easy to pull when the driver's door is open. Not worth modifying. Just my opinion....

I was thinking of the hatch on my 280ZX... I believe you wanted to release the hatch, not the hood.
On his '76 there's no inside the car hatch release, just the push button on the outside.

You may not have noticed that the Z came with "keyless entry" from the Factory. To operate, simply don't lock the the doors.

I've used this handy feature on all my cars, and none have failed to work as designed. Plus, you never have to worry about low batteries or wonky fobs.

And as a bonus, you never have to deal with "break in" damage.
