Guys I'm in the process of undoing the stock bolts on the driver side. A common issue in removing the upper bolts is enough clearance due to the brake master cylinder being so close to the strut tower. There's no clearance to easily get the front bolt out, on my Z I have maybe 1/2 inch of clearance...
Write-ups I've seen have suggested cutting the metal bracket that runs between the 2 upper bolts as a way to make removal easier? Not sure I understand how this helps - seems like clearance is still going to be an issue? Trying not to have to fully remove the brake master cylinder too -since this really complicates things. For others that have done this -- is removing the nuts on the brake MC enough to allow some wiggling to get things out (along with cutting the bolt binding bracket)?
