Hey Guys,
After much ire dealing with a bad pivot on my P90A, I was about to replace the it with a P90. I had read somewhere that Nissan racing was known to weld the pivots to make them solid.
Well, I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tried it.
I made sure the follower was snug to the cam, wrapped the area around the pivot with damp rags, and proceeded to lay down a small spot bead on opposing sides of the pivot stem. I made sure the bead melded into the housing and the moving "piston". I used my basic wire welder.
The whole job was done in about 30 minutes, and now: NO NOISY LIFTER (pivot)!!!!....at least until another one goes bad.
I hope this tip helps someone out there.
