I here the term SU all the time in here and i was wonder what it ment. I know it has somthing to do with carb. cars. I have Fi so i never have really crossed the term

Don't worry about it. It is something like: Sucks Under all kinds of conditions or Supreme Underacheiver or Stuck Under my car every weekend or something...I don't know either. Whatever it is, seems to cause alot of stress though...

Which is the original name of the foundry where they were made.

Basically it's the name of the carburators used in the early Zs. They were used in pairs. Made by Hitatchi in Japan against an English patent (I think).

They are unlike Detroit style carbs like Carter, Rochester, Holly, etc.

SU's only cause trouble for the un-edumacated and uninitiated. SU's are extremely simple and reliable (unlike FI!).

You can't get much simpler, unless you just pour gas into the manifold by hand!
And yes they are a snap to work on!

I'm only 18 so never had that much experience with carbs.
I din even know STARTING a carbd car took extra effrot...apperently it does.

anyway...
I like fuel injection nice and accurate...
