Thinking about a Crane, MSD, Jacobs, or Mallory CD type ignition control unit for my '82 280ZX turbo. The '82 turbo uses a crank angle sensor mounted in the distributor with LED's, to create a pulse for the ECU which sends a signal to a transistor mounted on the coil. This amplified signal feeds the coil.

Anyone install one of these CD units on a turbo?
Any improvements?

Thanks,
chuck

I used an MSD 6AL and it made a big difference.. with the 7000 rpm chip. I had to bypass the crank angle sensor on the distributor to get it to work.. My set up is a tripple carb and I'm sure you'l have a lot more in your turbo. now I need to figure is how to get my RPM guage to work with the MSD. :)
