I want to replace the mechanical fan in my 78 with an electric fan. The question I have with this is what is the cfm that I will need on the fan. I want to put in a fan that I will be able to use when I do an engine upgrade. I want to either make install a rb26dett or an LS6 engine into the car.

First, I think you should consider alumium radiator. They have better heat transfer than the Z radiator so you won't need as much air to cool the engine down. 2000cfm should be good for both. Blackmagic is the largest cfm single fan that would fit in the Z.
