I was thinking of buying a plastic dash cover for my z. I was wondering how they looked though. does it look like stock, or does it look kind of cheesy?
do you remove the plastic on the original dash and put this cover over the foam?

Its a little more glossy than the original dash but looks very nice once installed. Just make sure to get the full cover and not the half cover. With the full cover, you can't tell that its on there, other than the diff in finish. It bonds on over the original.

So you really can't see the old surface under the cover? Not even around the edges or around the instruments? Doesn't the glovebox door look weird after the cover's there?

Thanks!

You can see the differences if you look real close - underneath, at the sides a little, etc. I've had several people ask me if I had replaced the dash on my car because they couldn't believe a blask dash would last 26 years. They're always surprised when I tell them it's just a cover.

Unless you need your interior to be 100% perfect the cover should suit you just fine.

I used to have a 77Z. I had it about 2 weeks before I realized my perfect dash had a cover on it. They are that good.
